Jim White, owner of White Automotive at 112 Main Street in Marsing is an Idaho native who has operated a car dealership in Caldwell for the past ten years. He has relocated his business to Marsing because of the opportunity that exists here and the fact that he has an existing client base here in Owyhee County. The primary focus of the dealership will be the sale of used cars and trucks, from very basic transportation all the way to very late model vehicles including special order. He expects to carry some recreational vehicles as well, including boats and motorcycles.
Jim has worked in the auto industry in several different capacities both here in Idaho and out of state in large metropolitan areas. Of all the jobs he has held in the auto business, he gets the most enjoyment out of being self-employed and dealing with the good people in this area. Jim worked for his father's Oldsmobile and Nissan dealership in Payette while growing up as well as for some of the area farms and ranches. After high school he attended the University of Idaho School of Business and Economics and was also a receiver for the Idaho Vandal football team through 1976.
